Faggots and Brushwood Bundles :
Faggots
and brushwood bundles are used for river bank restoration and stabilization
[particularly in trout fishing streams], prevention of tidal river bank
erosion and coastal defence work.
Faggots and brushwood bundles can be made from hazel, birch, bird cherry,
oak, willow, alder, beech and sweet chestnut. We have ample supplies
of most of these tree species, but with the exception of live willow which
will grow in water, each species will perform the same function when submerged
in water.
Normally
bundle sizes range from between 2metres and 3metres long and by 200mm to 300mm in diameter with
a maximum individual stem size of 40mm. They are tied in three places
with polypropylene or hessian twine. We stock large quantities of our
high quality, standard faggot, 2.10metres - 2.45metres long x 250mm diameter. |
